Love this family. They were so fun and sweet. We had a great time. The girls were so fun and willing to do anything. Their property is a photographers dream. I could have taken pictures there forever. There were so many fun textures, colors and just beauty. Here are a few that make my heart smile.

The Gardiner’s also own Volente Beach Boat Club. It is an amazing business where you pay a yearly fee and can go boating anytime. They take care of everything for you. You just get to have fun on the water and not worry about all the stress and maintenance of owning a boat.

Justin has been our financial planner for about 4 years. We met so randomly. I met him and Cassi on a flight back to Austin. I can’t remember where I had been, just that we had met and just clicked. It was at a time where we really needed some financial direction. He has helped us make some good choices for our family and keeps prodding us to save for retirement when we forget–which we so desperately need. Bless his heart.

I hadn’t met their boys before and they are PRECIOUS and super fun! Here are some of the images from their family portrait session that make my heart smile. You could just see the love and fun they have together.

Coach Heather-Top 10 Fit Mom in Austin Fit Magazine!

A couple weeks ago I posted about Defiant Crossfit and my friend Coach Heather. She has been named one of Austin’s top 10 fit moms in Austin Fit Magazine!

I am so excited for her and for the entire Defiant team. Congratulations Coach Heather!

On a personal note, I have lost 20 lbs since June 23rd and am down almost 2 full pants sizes. I am down lower then I have been in a long time (maybe 7 or 8 years) and feel healthier then I can ever remember thanks to Heather’s help. I have been very successful with my eating plan, now I need to ramp up on my workouts. I’ll keep you all posted. If you need help reaching your health goals go see Heather, I promise you won’t regret it. Congratulations Heather on being one of Austin’s 10 most fit mom’s!

It was great to photograph Sarah. I am used to chasing kids around and playing in the dirt so this was quite a change for me. I typically don’t do these type of professional sessions, but Sarah was open to going outside. Sarah has almost completed her license and specializes in family counseling. You can tell she is a sweet spirit from the first time you meet her and she puts you at ease immediately. If you are in the North Austin area and need some therapy or someone to listen give her a call. Her website is great and I just love her philosophy.

Defiant Crossfit

I have gotten to know Heather Hodges over the past 9 years. She is an amazing woman with many talents. One of them is inspiring people.

I told myself I wasn’t going to let her inspire me to workout or be more healthy. I was pretty stubborn about it too. Then I saw the results some of my friends had while working with her. It was more then I could even deny. I caved and swallowed my pride.

I decided to do Heather’s online program since I live about 40 minutes from her gym in Round Rock/Pflugerville. In 8 weeks I have lost 15 lbs and feel better then I could have ever dreamed. I am not the type that stays on a program for very long. To be honest I was just going to try it for a month, hard core, and see if I felt any better. I did. It has been dramatic. I used to take naps every day, now even though I don’t get a ton of sleep because of my little guy, I hardly ever nap during the day. I feel better then I have in a long time.

I went to Defiant Crossfit to take some images of the coaches working out for some promotional materials. The coaches are awesome, full of energy and very knowledgeable. Here are some images from our session.

Autumn’s Birthday Cake-Humble Pie Desserts

My Autumn just celebrated her 2 year birthday before we left for Boston. She really wanted an E-I-E-I-O birthday party. Owning a local business myself, I always try to give my business to other local businesses or other businesses started by moms. I found a business card for Humble Pie Desserts at our local gymnastics place (where my 2 year old and I take a class together). I called Jeanna and told her what I was looking for. She mentioned something about cookies and frosting and I choose the cake type. I wasn’t sure if she was talking about frosting regular animal crackers or what, but I just let her be creative and hoped for the best. When I saw the cake I almost cried. It was AMAZING. I even gave her a hug. I am sure she thought I had lost my mind as I had never met her before, but it was just more then I could have ever dreamed up in my mind. Not only did it look adorable, it tasted fabulous. Here are the pictures:
