Defiant Crossfit

I have gotten to know Heather Hodges over the past 9 years. She is an amazing woman with many talents. One of them is inspiring people.

I told myself I wasn’t going to let her inspire me to workout or be more healthy. I was pretty stubborn about it too. Then I saw the results some of my friends had while working with her. It was more then I could even deny. I caved and swallowed my pride.

I decided to do Heather’s online program since I live about 40 minutes from her gym in Round Rock/Pflugerville. In 8 weeks I have lost 15 lbs and feel better then I could have ever dreamed. I am not the type that stays on a program for very long. To be honest I was just going to try it for a month, hard core, and see if I felt any better. I did. It has been dramatic. I used to take naps every day, now even though I don’t get a ton of sleep because of my little guy, I hardly ever nap during the day. I feel better then I have in a long time.

I went to Defiant Crossfit to take some images of the coaches working out for some promotional materials. The coaches are awesome, full of energy and very knowledgeable. Here are some images from our session.

Amazing Photography Workshop

My inspiration comes from so many things. I love to see my Autumn playing with her doll or animal. My Olivia dancing around as a ballerina. I get inspiration from flowers, nature, old rusty looking doors, chipped stools, barns, lighting, animals…really from everything I encounter. I also get my inspiration from other photographers. Amazing Skye Hardwick from Work of Heart Photography was in town for a workshop I attended. It was beyond amazing. I learned new business type things, and she introduced me to some new vendors (more great things coming soon). She also talked to us a lot about inspiration. Her work inspires me within itself, but she shared so much about how to find my own inspiration from within. Did I mention how great it was? I really needed this workshop in my life, it was perfect timing with everything I have been going through in the past number of months.

We also had the time to do a photo session with about 16 different children. It was SO fun! You all know how much I love kids and it was so fun to get to know so many at one time and take their pictures. I will post some of my favorites over the next couple of days.

Praying Mantis

I am not known for my love of insects, snakes or spiders of any kind. There are a couple insects which are okay, one of them is the praying mantis. They are just cool looking. The fact that they look like they are praying makes them a little more endearing then your average insect. We found one outside the other day. The girls had never seen one before. It was great. It looked right at me as though it knew I was admiring it.
